WHEN TO TRAVEL?

Tanzania has little seasonal fluctuation in temperature however the year can be divided into two distinct wet seasons. From late March to May the long rains occur, these can last several days and so we would not advise travel during this time. The shorter rains take place during November & generally last only an hour or two each day. The remaining months are warm and dry making them perfect for travel and game viewing.

The spectacular view of the wildebeest migration into the Serengeti from the Masai Mara takes place annually during January and February and so is a particularly good time to travel, though National Parks do inevitably get busy.

With National Parks rich in wildlife, spectacular landscapes, pristine sandy beaches and traditional Masai tribes, Tanzania is a country offering a wealth of experiences to satisfy the interests of every traveller.

MEET MARIANNE GRIMSHAW
REGIONAL SPECIALIST FOR TANZANIA

“Like everyone at Tailormade Explore I am fortunate enough to have travelled extensively, on an extended trip across Africa I was captured by the huge skies and open plains, especially across Kenya and Tanzania. The white sands of Zanzibar are my favourite place to relax and the forested mountains of Uganda and the deserts of Namibia have become somewhere I am happy to return to again and again."

“Below are some of my Tanzanian highlights. For more information on these travel gems or any other highlights of Tanzania, call our African team on 0844 875 1895 or, see some of my suggested itineraries to the right.”

“A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE TANZANIAN HIGHLIGHTS”

“Waking up to the sounds of hippos and watching the game outside of my tent was a fantastic experience."

“I find the Serengeti spectacular. I love the blue skies and vast open plains that teem with African wildlife."

“The Zanzibar beaches are like picture postcards, with turquoise waters and sand so white; it is a paradise island."
